FREDRIK ROOS FOUNDATION

The foundation's scholarship is not a prize but, as the word says, a scholarship, which according to our statutes must be used for education and development of the scholarship recipient's artistry. For the foundation, this is essential, we want to be involved and provide the opportunity for a young artist to continue experimenting, exploring and trying his hand while the mind is still young and the urge to create something new is great!

Since 2018, the foundation has also collaborated with Artipelag. Our hope is that this will further strengthen the focus on the scholarship recipients and their artistic work. THE SCHOLARSHIP

The purpose of the foundation is to provide scholarships for education and/or teaching to younger Nordic artists, preferably active in painting and/or sculpture. A scholarship from the Foundation may be awarded to a person who, in the year of receipt, is no more than 35 years old. The foundation can also make contributions to operations or activities that promote artistic purposes in an urgent and significant way. Both scholarships and grants can be given without monetary limitation and to recipients both in Sweden and abroad. Awarding of scholarships or grants can take place on an unlimited number of occasions per year. The foundation's board alone decides who will receive a scholarship or grant. The foundation shall not award a scholarship more than once to each recipient.
